New position to deepen donor connections and build mission awareness
March 22, 2021, Melber, KY – As a key part of strategic expansion to serve more children in need, New Pathways for Children has hired David Simmons for the newly-created role of Director of Development and Marketing. Simmons will lead New Pathways’ efforts to grow partnerships, develop new sources of revenue and create marketing programs to build brand awareness.
“As a long-time personal supporter of New Pathways, I trust how effective and consistent the team is delivering the mission. It’s a privilege to be included and to serve the amazing individuals, churches, and businesses that partner with us!” said Simmons.
“With David’s hiring, we are better positioned to grow and serve more children,” stated Executive Director Ricky Burse. “Previously, we made the prayerful decision to no longer accept government funding in order to continue helping children learn about Jesus. New Pathways exists to minister to the physical, social, emotional, and spiritual needs of at-risk children in a Christ-like atmosphere.”
Steve Meiners, Board Chairman explained, “A little over a year ago, the Board determined to advance boldly and God has faithfully blessed us as we take each step. A property near our facilities became available to purchase and we took action. Subsequently, we received a major gift covering the full amount – establishing the John and Vivian Williams House.”
Meiners continued, “Dr. Burse prioritized the hiring of a Development Director. Shortly after David accepted the position, another unexpected large inflow of resources came to New Pathways. Again, God blessed our desire to do more. David’s experience and enthusiasm continue to be part of a bright future for New Pathways and we welcome him as part of the family.”
Simmons brings over 25 years of experience and credibility to the new position. He was previously the Executive Director of F.A.C.E., French African Christian Education Foundation. He has served in marketing leadership roles for Mercy Health, Yamaha Outboards, FLW Outdoors, and Bass Pro Shops. David’s degree in business administration is from the University of Tennessee-Martin.
